Poise Studio is fully inclusive, meaning anyone of any age, size, ability, gender or race can feel safe and supported whilst moving their body. Here is an overview of our classes.
Dance:
Ballet - Novice, Improvers, Intermediate
A classical ballet class comprising of barre and centre work. Focusing and building form and technique, ballet requires strength and grace in equal measures.
Pointe
Only available for those in intermediate ballet. Pointe work requires strong technique and adequate foot and ankle strength. Please send a message for more details before booking.
Heels
Sultry dance class done in heels. This class is all about harnessing your feminine energy and empowerment. Heels will boost self love and confidence and is fully inclusive. Warm up, confidence drills and routine.
Lyrical
Blending the grace of ballet with the freedom of contemporary, lyrical is a flowing, emotive dance style that has a strong connection to lyrics. Warm up, corner work and dance routine.
Tap skills
Come and brush up on your tap skills. Learn basic tap steps and technique whilst having fun and improving cognitive health with intricate movements. Warm up, technique and combinations.
Commercial
A modern and funky dance style most commonly seen in music videos, commercial is all about high vibes and enjoying movement. Full warm up and dance routine.
Jazz
Build strong tecnique and style with jazz, focusing on making shapes with the body with a sense of joy to up tempo music. Warm up, technique and corner work and finishing with a dance routine.
Contemporary
Creates freedom and flow in the body. Contemporary explores different movement patterns in the body using different levels, floorwork and a more athletic feel with jumps and leaps. Warm up, corner work and dance routine.
Fitness
Dance fit
An aerobics style class using repetitive dance moves set to up beat music to get your heart pumping, body sweating and face smiling. The best feel good class on the timetable! All welcome
Strength Circuits
Using both added weights and bodyweight exercises, this full body circuit style class will improve strength, functional movement patterns and stability. Led by fully trained PT, all movements are adaptable to suit different capabilities.
Pilates
A low impact, full body class done on the floor, making use of props to strengthen the core, improve balance and stability in a mindful way.
Barre Fit
Barre is a low impact, high rep class done to the beat of the music that improves coordination, posture, strength and stability.This class is a regular body weight barre class focusing on building strength and improving mobility.
Power Barre
Power Barre uses a different prop each week to intensify the workout and keep the body challenged with the added option of using ankle and wrist weights if preferred.
Barre Sculpt
This class has a more circuits type feel that uses weights and multi props in one class to really challenge the body and feel the burn
Stretch & Flex
This class uses targeted stretches that improves range of motion and end range strength to help prevent injury, improve circulation and allow the body to move more freely.
PT Sessions
We can host private PT sessions in our 1-1 room which will allow you to build strength more quickly, be more targeted and specific with a workout tailored to you or help improve your overall form. Please message for more details.
Wellness
Yoga
A mindful class concentrating on connecting with the breath as you flow through poses, yoga will improve balance, strength and mobility in a gentle way.
Yin yoga
Yin uses the help of bolster cushions to help support your body in specific poses which facilitates a deeper sense of relaxation in the body. This class is deeply restorative.
Yin & sound bath
Our monthly yin and sound event is the ultimate self care class. After enjoying a relaxing yin session you will be invited to lie down with soft blankets and eye pillows to shut off the senses and allow the sound waves from crystal bowls to transport you to a different dimension. Sound baths are known to help release negativity and promote a deep sense of calm in the body.
